JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Technical Engineer of the Instrumentation, Controls, and Automation (ICA) portion of various size projects.

·       Coordinate ICA activities of projects with the Technical Services Team.

·       Develop/review power distribution one-lines, SIS/PCS/ESD control systems, Control narratives, Cause and Effect Charts, area classification, control panel drawings, instrumentation specifications, and facility layout.

·       Capable of marking up engineered drawings for drafting.

·       Capable of generating engineered sketches for control systems, installations, etc.

·       Coordinate, review, and supervise ICA design work done by Engineering contractors.

·       Participate in PHA, MOC’s, and Hazops.

·       Provide technical expertise and support for project construction and commissioning phases to include control system programming and configuration, factory and site acceptance testing, communications, programming oversite, loop checks, safety testing, and startups of compressor stations, gas plants, pump stations, new units, etc.

·       Work closely with project managers regarding ICA material and man-power budgets, and technical knowledge for major projects.

·       Produce costs estimates for ICA work.  Track project costs and forecast to-go costs.

·       Write procedures, organize workflow, and maintain schedules.

·       Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Engineering or Technical degree from two to four-year college or university and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

·       Technically competent with Microsoft Excel and Word

·       Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

·       Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

·       Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

·       Flexible during times of change.

·       Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating (in communications with others including company employees and contract workers).

·       Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

·       Strong written and oral communication skills.

·       Strong interpersonal skills.

·       Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and finding equipment needed for a project.

·       Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

·       Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

·      Technically competent or aptitude to becoming competent with Ignition HMI software.

·      Regular and reliable attendance. 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Technically competent or aptitude to becoming competent with Ignition HMI software.

WORK CONDITIONS:

 

·        Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions

·        Ability to travel up to 30-40% of time.

·        Ability to frequently throughout the work shift, push, pull and lift at least a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 3-4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed

·        Ability to work outdoors in changing climate conditions

·        Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing

·        Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs and platforms at varying heights
