Sr. Risk Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will be less focused on daily PnL and exposure reporting and more focused on projects to get us to the place where we can do daily reporting. The ideal person will be able to take an idea and run with it – independently assessing the situation, working with impacted groups, and implementing changes.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run exposure reports for NGL and / or Gas
Report VaR
Mentor junior team members
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QULIFICATIONS:
5+ years’ experience in a similar role, handling NGL and/or Gas risk including financial and physical deals
RightAngle and/or Allegro experience including setting up curves, locations, report views, etc
Excel including Macros and Pivot Tables
Power BI is a plus
Process setup and improvement are a big plus as we grow this function
Understanding of price exposures, roll off schedules, etc for financial and physical deals
In conversation with front office, opine on curve marking methodology.
Logistical understanding of NGL and/or Gas business including physical buy/sell deals, transportation, storage and fractionation.
How does it show up on risk reports? How would you model it? How do scheduling changes impact your work?
Deep understanding of MTM calculation and troubleshooting unexpected changes
Understand VaR, generically how to calculate it, what drives it, what does it tell you, etc.
Regular and reliable attendance.
