JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Draft, review, and serve as the point of coordination for negotiation efforts related to agreements, amendments, terminations and supplemental documents for Downstream Transportation business activities leveraging Targa’s proprietary agreement templates in accordance with internal guidelines.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for coordination of establishing counterparty onboarding and KYC tasks as required.

  • Responsible for contract lifecycle management across the assigned business areas.

  • Serve as a liaison between counterparties and internal stakeholders (commercial, legal, accounting, credit, risk management, and Targa facility personal) to facilitate consistency, timely follow-up, contract negotiation and execution.

  • Notify Commercial Reps of upcoming critical dates in the contracts, riders and/or exhibits.

  • Log and track documents through execution in Tracker database

  • Prepare contract briefs for updating OEL (contract system) and update other applicable systems upon receipt of executed documents

  • Scan documents timely to the Targa Contract and Reporting Center SharePoint site

  • Adhoc projects as assigned by Management/Senior Management

  • Backfill for Confirmation Team as needed. Generate and review standard form confirmations for transactions done under master contracts, ensuring commercial terms are correctly captured and confirmations are dispatched within contract deadlines.

  • Analyze incoming CounterParty and Broker confirmations for Natural Gas Liquids (“NGL”), Financial, and Physical Gas Confirmations to ensure that the deal parameters match the commercial terms in the Targa generated confirmation and that no legal language or additional commercial terms have been included on the confirmation. 

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.  This requires interfacing regularly with Commercial, Deal Entry, Contract Administration and Counterparties

  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience within Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) and Natural Gas Downstream Marketing/Trading industries including hands-on experience preparing and reviewing commercial agreements.

  • 5–10 years of experience in an energy trading and marketing environment, with direct responsibility for verifying physical and financial confirmations for NGL and natural gas transactions, or equivalent industry expertise

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract terms and commercial structures for Downstream NGL transportation (truck, rail, pipeline), sales, purchases, exchanges, service agreements, etc.

  • Proficiency or working experience with SharePoint, Allegro, RightAngle, Access, Business Objects, and Microsoft Excel preferred

  • Highly task-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Demonstrated aptitude and confidence in learning new software applications and adapting to evolving systems and processes

  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse business functions

  • Proven ability to analyze large volumes of information, recognize discrepancies or issues, and apply systematic, logical problem-solving technique

  • Consistently detail-oriented, thorough, focused, perceptive, and inquisitive, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

  • Highly dependable and responsive

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Regular and reliable attendance
