Risk Management & Insurance Analyst

Targa Resources Corp is currently seeking a Risk Analyst to work within the corporate Risk Management and Insurance group which will report to the Manager, Risk Management and Insurance. The Risk Analyst will assist in the placement and administration of the corporate insurance program, including assisting in the preparation of underwriting submissions and presentations, reviewing coverage binders and insurance policies, reviewing policy audits, contract reviews, and claim handling oversight.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support in the execution of the strategy and operational objectives of the risk management and insurance function.
- Work closely with the Legal Department, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial Services in development and/or review of revised language of various contracts and maintain a clear understanding of the relevance of those provisions.
- Monitor Targa’s compliance with insurance covenants in various agreements to ensure that defaults do not occur.
- Review and analyze insurance policies when an interpretation of contract terms is needed, or when identification of differences in selected terms across contracts is required.
- Build, maintain, and manage relationships with claims adjusters and other claim related parties.
- Maintain an efficient process for claim reporting, administration, and management.
- Administer and maintain a robust surety bond portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with the Risk Management and Insurance team to ensure the exposures of Targa are identified and analyzed on an ongoing basis.
- Develop analysis and reporting as needed.
- Lead projects as assigned and as needed.
- Periodic travel may be required (e.g., property risk surveys, underwriter meetings, policyholder conferences, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, additional education in Risk Management and Insurance Preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the risk management and insurance field; OR an equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience.
- Preferred to have the following designations: CPCU, ARM and/or other commercial insurance designations.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks with little supervision.
- Must be able to handle complex issues as appropriate.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer savvy with strong working knowledge of full MS Office Suite.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
