Pipeline Integrity Dig Manager
Description:
Provide technical support to all areas of pipeline systems with the primary responsibilities of managing Pipeline Integrity specific dig projects (post In-line inspection criteria and validation digs, direct assessment verification digs, and evaluation and repair of anomalies) on hazardous liquid and gas pipelines. The individual will be a resource in support of pipelines and may support operational activities. The individual must possess the ability to associate with a wide variety of people (personalities, skills, and education levels, etc.) with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
The individual must possess project management skills used in the development of project documents such as post Inline Inspection dig sheets, direct assessment field verification, schedule, budget forecasting, cost tracking/analysis, Management of Change, and be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with multiple internal departments, including Pipeline Compliance, Operations, Engineering & Construction, Environmental Health & Safety, Accounting, Business Development, Control Room, Land and Right of Way, to manage post In-line inspection criteria and validation digs, Direct Assessment verification digs, and remediation projects to maintain and improve the integrity of the company’s pipeline infrastructure.
- Maintain and update the project document retention system
- Maximo, Oracle, SharePoint
- Support Federal and State audits
- Manage multiple projects with various deadlines and responsibility levels. Projects will include pipeline integrity inspection and remediation/repair work.
- Work with Non-Destructive Examination and Testing companies to review in-ditch assessments, interpret required remediation actions, and propose remediation based on Targa Repair Procedures
- As needed, develop project scope documents, schedules, contractors’ bid documents, manage the bid process including job showing, select contractor, select and requisition materials, coordinate permitting, and manage contractor and other project activities.
- Coordinate with Engineering to apply the company's design and operating philosophy within project locations to meet corporate goals for safety, regulatory compliance, and efficiency.
- Review and manage projects in terms of costs, budgets, OSHA Safety, Targa’s Engineering Standards, Construction Standards, and Operating and Maintenance Procedures.
- Provide support to operations, as required, including development of budgets for pipeline integrity work.
- Effectively prioritize workload between multiple projects. Ability to take on new projects and shift priorities on short notice.
- All other duties as assigned.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, PowerBI, SharePoint, Maximo, and Oracle.
- Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

Preferred Experience / Specific Knowledge:
- Knowledge of typical pipeline material defects/threats and ability to identify (coating holidays, corrosion, mechanical damage, cracks, wrinkles, etc)
- Understanding of pipeline in-line inspection tools used to assess the integrity of pipelines and pipeline remediation and repair methods.
- Knowledge of in-ditch pipeline inspection and assessment technologies (Guided Wave, Ultrasonics, Pit and Dent gauges, Creaform/laser scanning, Eddy Current, etc)
- Knowledge of pipeline repair methods (Cutouts, Type A and B welded sleeves, Composite Repairs, Mechanical repair sleeves)
- Knowledge of 49 CFR 192/195, ASME B31.4 and B31.8, and ASME and NACE standards.
- Full complement of project management skills including project scoping and estimating, cost and schedule control, team building, resource planning and permitting.
- Ability to interpret and utilize pipeline construction drawings and alignment sheets.
- Working knowledge of pipeline fabrication and construction techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general pipeline industry operations.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) a plus but not required.
- Non-degreed personnel based on experience.
- 7+ years coordinating pipeline integrity projects preferred
