JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide technical support to all areas of pipeline systems with the primary responsibilities of supporting the pipeline integrity program.  Work scope will include aspects of pipeline risk, reviews of Inline Inspection reports/analysis, review and supplement the Pipeline Integrity Management Manual updates annually and determining methods to better integrate data pertaining to Pipeline Integrity.  This includes, but is not limited to, all onshore and offshore gas and oil pipelines, pump stations, compressor stations, aboveground storage tanks, pressure vessels and terminals located in the United States. The individual will be a resource to the region in support of pipelines and may support operational activities. The individual must possess the ability to associate with a wide variety of people (personalities, skills, and education levels, etc.) with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

The individual must possess integrity management/engineering/data analysis skills to assist with scheduling, budget forecasting, cost tracking/analysis, regulation interpretation, and risk identification/mitigation and be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES: 

  • Coordinate with multiple internal departments, including Pipeline Compliance, Operations, Engineering & Construction, Environmental Health & Safety, Accounting, Business Development, Control Room, Land and Right of Way to manage pipeline integrity data to maintain and improve the integrity of the company’s pipeline infrastructure.
  • Review and update the Baseline Assessment-Continuous Assessment Program
  • Coordinate support of long-term planning and forecasting (budgets)
  • Learn and review software to better leverage data integration across multiple platforms
  • Recommend data storage and archival library methods for inspections and planning
  • Support Federal and State Integrity inspections
  • Coordinate with Compliance in reviewing and recommending program changes based on new regulations
  • Attend Conferences to determine benchmarks against competitor programs and recommend alternative practices
  • Provide support for operations, as required, for pipeline integrity work.
  • Provide support in repair determination for identified pipeline flaws.
  • Support Consulting work specified annually.
  • Effectively prioritize workload between multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to take on new initiatives and shift priorities on short notice.
  • Other duties as required.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
  • Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
  • Must be accountable and take directions from Managers/Supervisors; keep required work schedules, which include regular and predictable job attendance; focus attention on details.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to find solutions.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.
  • Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Must have strong diplomacy skills, demonstrating the ability to professionally represent the organization, build relationships and negotiate in the best interest of the Company.
  • Must be detail oriented and can review and proof work of others to ensure accuracy.
  • Non-supervisory but expected to take leadership roles in projects.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general pipeline industry operations.
  • Understanding of pipeline in-line inspection tools used to assess the integrity of pipelines and pipeline remediation and repair methods.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Inline Inspection vendor software packages
  • Knowledge of hydrostatic testing of pipelines.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR 192/195, ASME B31.4 and B31.8, and ASME and NACE standards.
  • Knowledge of Pipeline Risk methods (Qualitative, Relative, SME, Quantitative)
  • Working knowledge of pipeline fabrication and construction techniques.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.

EDUCATION:

  • Engineering degree
    • Professional Engineer (PE) a plus but not required.
  • Non-degreed personnel based on experience.
  • Data analyst, Integrity Specialist
  • 3+ years’ experience
