MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an Equivalent Engineering Degree from a 4-year accredited University
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the refining, petrochemical, or midstream process industries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Work and Excel
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected crafts, personnel, contractors, and customers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Regular and Reliable Attendance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of experience in the refining, petrochemical, or midstream process industries
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Maximo CMMS
  • Familiarity with one or more formal root cause analysis methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of PSM/PHA methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of Maximo or other computerized maintenance management system
  • Experience with steam generation systems desired
  • Experience with Solar Gas Turbines desired
  • Experience with ANSI/ASME B73.1 and API 610 centrifugal pumps
  • Experience with API 618 reciprocating compressors
  • Experience with heat exchangers, piping systems, tanks, and process vessels
  • Ability to read P&IDs efficiently.
  • Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.  Organizational skills sufficient to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team, under the pressure of completing deadlines with frequent interruptions.  Ability to work autonomously following direction, policies, or procedures. Ability to use analytical and decision-making skills to recommend options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, FRC).
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
