Investor Relations Analyst

Targa Resources (NYSE: TRGP) is currently seeking an Analyst to join the Investor Relations & Fundamentals functions on Targa’s broader finance team. The Analyst role at Targa is critical in executing IR efforts to communicate Targa’s value proposition to the investor universe and the sell-side as well as supporting Targa’s business units with broader macro analysis. The position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior management, finance, commercial and individual business units to understand business trends and market dynamics in the energy sector as well as develop and plan external communications to the investment community. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills and be able to contribute on a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the quarterly earnings process, including preparation and distribution of press releases, quarterly earnings materials, analyst estimates, peer analysis, market research and related materials
- Collaborate with Targa’s business units to support and inform leadership of current business fundamentals and market dynamics across the energy sector
- Develop and maintain large datasets and forecasts for the energy sector including crude, natural gas and natural gas liquids
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive investor communication narratives and strategies aligned with the Company's financial goals and messaging objectives
- Conduct regular evaluation of analyst models and estimates, quarterly shareholder analysis and peer comps to support Investor Relations efforts and strategic decision-making processes
- Support the planning and execution of the annual calendar of Investor Relations activities to facilitate direct engagement with investors, analysts and financial community members
- Serve as an informed resource for investors, analysts and other stakeholders, responding to inquiries, providing timely updates and addressing concerns in collaboration with the IR & Fundamentals team
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts and other key stakeholders to enhance the company's visibility and reputation in the market
- Support senior management in developing board presentations, employee town halls, special projects and conference and roadshow presentations
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENITAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; a concentration in finance, accounting or business administration is a plus
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, accounting, corporate finance or corporate lending, and/or energy sector experience is a plus
- Analytical mindset with strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling synthesizing data sets and presentation development
- Experience with energy commodities in the areas of crude oil, NGLs, natural gas and petroleum products is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proven relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport with business unit leaders, executives, investors and other key stakeholders
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on accuracy and transparency
- Ability to manage several time-sensitive projects simultaneously and with necessary urgency while upholding exceptional judgement, discretion and integrity
- Ability to travel when required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in financial software and tools, including FactSet/Bloomberg/Capital IQ is a plus
- Regular and reliable attendance
