MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 plus years’ direct experience in performing sales tax audits or reverse audits in either industry, the State Comptroller’s office, or a tax consulting firm.
- Excellent knowledge of Texas’ manufacturing rules and laws as well as contractor’s/construction laws.
- Ability to work in a team environment which values teamwork and strong collaboration.
- Desire to identify problems/issues; propose and develop solutions and take ownership, including follow through to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Internally driven to be consistently proactive
- Ability to work required overtime as deemed necessary during critical periods.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills, such as Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of data and utilize pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUPs, etc.
- Experience with tax research software.
- Regular and reliable attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Midstream Oil and gas experience or knowledge.
- Knowledge of state tax laws in TX, OK, ND, NM, LA, FL.
- Experience in PinPoint, or other Use tax determination software.
- Experience with Alteryx, Allegro, Access, RightaNGLe, Avalara or other fuels tax compliance software.
- Experience filing state tax returns in various states.
- Experience with managing adval taxes.
- Experience in Oracle Financials Cloud
- Certified Public Accountant or eligibility a plus.
