Senior Process Engineer
Targa is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support assets at the Mont Belvieu, TX facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing technical support for the Plants at Mont Belvieu. Areas to include process engineering, pipeline engineering, process optimization, troubleshooting, project management, business and operations technical support for NGL fractionators, gasoline hydrotreaters, propane fractionators and pipelines/terminal.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Size and rate plant process equipment.
- Model and evaluate plant operation and suggest efficiency and debottlenecking projects.
- Model processing units to include NGL fractionators, low C2 propane units, gasoline hydrotreaters and terminal and storage operations. Develop simulations and review against operating conditions.
- Provide technical support for plant operations and maintenance personnel, as well as commercial stake holders.
- Provide technical support for returning idle equipment to service.
- Provide and assist with cost estimating for projects.
- Provide project management on capital projects.
- Assure all Targa design and construction standards are met and followed.
- Assure State and Federal regulations, and Targa policies, in Safety and Environmental areas are adhered to within area of responsibility.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering from 4-year accredited University.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products to include Word and Excel.
- Proficient in use of process simulators (Promax preferred).
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with natural gas liquid processing and process equipment.
- 5-10 years experience in either/or NGL fractionation, natural gas gathering, compression, refining, processing, fractionation, construction, or field operations.
- 5+ years experience in process engineering, project engineering, project management or related work experience.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment
- Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, hard hat, FRC)
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
