Plant Maintenance Technician

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license and comply with company’s driving policy and insurance requirements
• Must have a mechanical aptitude, capable of performing overhauls and major repairs of assigned facility and equipment
• Regular use of complex machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs.
• Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team
• Must become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
• Must reside in the Artesia/Carlsbad or surrounding area.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to 24 hour call outs as needed to fulfill business objective
• Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years experience in maintenance of gas plant equipment
• Two year associates degree or equivalent on the job training in specific skill area.
• Experience working in a team environment, self-starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative efforts
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well with peers and other crafts
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Position consists of heavy lifting, requires working around extreme heat & cold climates and work in a H2S (sour gas) environment.
• Requires extensive walking, working at heights and cramped working conditions, work schedules and long working hours as required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
• Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
