JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Manager of Gas Pipeline Scheduling is responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of the scheduling and transportation processes for Targa’s Residue Gas Pipelines.  The environment is very dynamic and has a diverse group of assets and personnel. 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Mentor and lead a staff of multiple direct reports, serving as the subject matter expert for a group of residue pipeline assets and associated service contracts.
  • Oversee scheduling activities across multiple pipelines, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations (i.e. SOX, TX RRC, FERC and CRE).
  • Imbalance management of all transportation on a daily and a monthly basis, with an emphasis on mitigation of price exposure, as well as participate in the negotiation of Transportation and Imbalance Agreements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, reduce operational risks, and enhance overall performance.
  • Work with shippers and interconnecting parties (gas plants, end users, intrastate and interstate PLs etc.) to manage daily and monthly nominations and gas flow.
  • Provide accurate and timely volume reporting to senior management.
  • Participate in Daily Operations meetings to stay abreast of any and all outages or disruptions to service and respond accordingly.
  • Available after normal business hours to respond to pipeline and other facility emergencies to minimize impact on customers.
  • Maintain relationships with major shippers and interconnecting parties on assigned assets.
  • Maintain practices, processes and procedures which encourage teamwork and decision making while minimizing uncertainty.
  • Lead and participate in system integrity projects for the benefit of automation, systems consolidation, data analytics improvement and process and efficiency improvement.
  • Monitor team performance, prepare and participate in the Annual Performance Review Process. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
     

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Direct-related work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
  • 8+ years’ industry experience. Scheduling experience required.
  • Previous Management experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of intrastate and interstate nomination procedures.
  • Advanced experience transporting on FERC regulated pipelines (firm and interruptible) and capable of navigating FERC tariffs.
  • Proven ability to mentor and train junior team members.
  • Proven ability to be an integral member of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, quickly adapt and tackle new problems, re-prioritizing as needed.
  • Ability to create and maintain an effective and cohesive team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance
