POSITION SUMMARY

This position will support the Mont Belvieu Complex serving as a Mechanical Integrity (MI) Inspector to better ensure overall safety, compliance, and equipment reliability.  This includes support for fixed equipment inspection and maintenance practices, and their application at Mont Belvieu.  This role is essential to the operation and reliability of Targa’s entire value chain.


JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       ​​Routing duties include gathering equipment data and information in the field

·       Performing internal and external visual inspections including non-destructive testing; recording data and information to assure equipment histories are current; analyzing inspection findings and developing recommendations; and preparing API 510 and 570 inspection reports for engineering and operations review

·       Individual will perform basic calculations using corrosion data to determine

·       Inspection schedules and equipment/piping remaining life

·       Assist in developing and implementing inspection programs (mechanical and metallurgical) to maximize the on-stream time of major equipment

·       Provide guidance and review for welding inspections (X-Ray)

·       Assist in quality assurance/quality control documentation for new construction.

·       Perform inspections for towers and vessels

·       Coordinate regular inspections and audits of fixed equipment to identify potential safety hazards and develop corrective action plans as needed

·       Maintain the MI database (PCMS) of equipment histories, including inspection and repair records

·       Possess knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to refining, petrochemical, or midstream energy business

·       Provide oversight to fixed equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair, and startup activities

·       Ability to follow and adhere to all applicable safety regulations including, but not limited to, Targa’s processes and procedures, Site Specific Rules, State and Federal regulations

·       Auditory attention and hearing sensitivity is required, as candidates must possess the ability to distinguish various sounds that serve as key maintenance and safety indicators

·       Performs other work-related duties as needed

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

·       Knowledge of applicable industry codes, including API 510, API 570, API 653, and B31.3

·       Knowledge of PSM/PHA methodologies and best practices

·       Ability to read P&IDs efficiently. Ability to read isometric drawings of both piping systems and pressure vessels

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Work and Excel

·       Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines

·       Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected crafts, personnel, contractors, and customers

·       Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources

·       Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense

·       Willing to work overtime to meet business needs and critical activities including relief for employees on vacation or personal leave

·       Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected crafts, personnel, contractors, and customers

·       Must work with minimal supervision and be able to manage time when given multiple tasks.

·       High School Diploma or GED equivalent

·       Regular and reliable attendance is required

·       Valid driver license required
