POSITION SUMMARY:

The Measurement Technician & Prover plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of all measurement systems across midstream operations. This position supports pipeline, terminal, and custody transfer measurement activities by performing meter proving, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of measurement equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, field experience, and a commitment to safe, precise, and efficient operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Perform routine and scheduled calibrations of flow meters, transmitters, temperature devices, pressure instruments, and associated measurement equipment

·       Conduct meter proving (Coriolis, turbine, PD meters, ultrasonic meters) to ensure accurate custody transfer measurement

·       Verify and adjust meter factors, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations (API, AGA, ASTM)

·       Maintain and update measurement records, calibration logs, and proving reports

·       Assist operations teams with troubleshooting measurement discrepancies, equipment failures, and system alarms

·       Support pipeline and terminal operations during product transfers, batch changes, and system startups/shutdowns

·       Monitor measurement systems for accuracy, reliability, and performance issues

·       Participate in Loss Control efforts by identifying and resolving measurement variances

·       Inspect, maintain, and repair measurement equipment including flow computers, provers, samplers, and associated instrumentation

·       Diagnoses and correct issues with communication systems, PLCs, RTUs, and SCADA-related measurement data

·       Ensure all equipment is functioning within manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements

·       Ensure all measurement activities comply with federal, state, and industry standards (PHMSA, API, AGA)

·       Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal reporting

·       Support internal and external audits related to measurement and proving activities

·       Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices

·       Participate in safety meetings, training, and emergency response drills

·       Identify and report potential hazards, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions

·       Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       High school diploma or GED

·       3+ years of experience in oil & gas measurement, proving, or instrumentation roles

·       Strong understanding of API and AGA measurement standards

·       Hands-on experience with meter proving equipment and flow computers (e.g., Daniel, Omni, Bristol, ABB)

·       Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals

·       Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives as scheduled

·       Proficiency with basic computer applications and field data entry

·       Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations

·       Regular and reliable attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Associate degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field

·       Experience in midstream pipeline or terminal operations

·       Knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols

·       TWIC card or ability to obtain one

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·       Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions

·       Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when required

·       Availability for on-call rotation, overtime, and occasional travel

·       Work may involve exposure to hydrocarbons, chemicals, and industrial equipment
