POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure across operations in South Texas. This role ensures optimal asset performance, minimal downtime, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, particularly within industrial, energy, or manufacturing environments common to the region. 


JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead team of maintenance superintendents to provide front line support to facility operations for daily maintenance activities. 
  • Monitor equipment performance and make improvement recommendations.
  • Provide front end loading support for plants and field facilities shutdowns/turnarounds.  Responsibilities include cost development, duration, schedule, and scope.  Execution and cost tracking included.
  • Establish a facility (and equipment) maintenance strategy that includes
    • Equipment specific preventive maintenance tasks,
    • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify reliability issues.
    • Critical equipment list and inventory management.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of individual aspects of the PM program by showing quantitatively the impact of corrective maintenance vs preventative maintenance.
  • Optimize PM activities via Maximo, on an on-going basis, to support overall productivity/process improvements.
  • Provide oversight and serve as point of contact for maintenance supervisors.
  • Assist our ESH department by collaborating closely with them resolve environmental issues. Oversee that they are receiving the maintenance information they need to accurately report deviations, exceedances, and other reporting needs.
  • Contribute to local MIP meetings, share best practices, and optimize equipment
  • Continuously monitors SCADA, Wellhead dashboard, and any other tools to gage utilization, reliability, efficiency, and throughput of facilities and equipment.
  • Evaluate bids and proposals for maintenance activity (overhauls, third party labor, etc.).
  • Lead and or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Participate in MOC’s, PHA’s, and PHA Reval’s as needed.
  • Actively participate in facility PSM and EHS Committee meetings.
  • Work with direct reports making sure expectations meet the needs of Targa and ensure continued advancements and career progression.
  • Manage employee overtime to ensure proper utilization of maintenance personnel resources and time management.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support/guidance in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets to minimize life cycle cost and maximize asset reliability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver license with the ability to meet the Targa vehicle policy.

  • Minimum of 3 years of Field or Plant maintenance supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability gained through prior management and/or supervisory assignments.

  • Knowledgeable in broad technical areas such as rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors, etc.) and stationary equipment (pressure vessels, piping, etc.).

  • Ability to learn federal, health, and safety regulations.

  • Read and speak the English language proficiently, understand safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.

  • Excellent written / oral communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers.

  • Ability to understand budgeting and project economics.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of company policies, HSE requirements, operations, and maintenance work processes.

  • Regular and Reliable Attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Oracle and Maximo
