Gas Pipeline Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will report to the Gas Pipelines VP. Responsibilities will include commercial analysis; financial modeling & reporting of performance; and development of proposals for internal executives and external counterparties; while working in a dynamic environment along-side Gas Traders and Schedulers, Engineering, Legal, Corporate Development, and Upstream Gathering & Processing Commercial Teams with a focus on the Permian Basin.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Provide support to the VP and Commercial Rep for the Natural Gas Pipeline Group and TGM; This will include constructing commercial and operational spreadsheets; creating PowerPoints needed for “Deal Review” Presentations to the Internal and Executive Teams, and Third-Party Customers
- Assist in preparing the Monthly Flash Reports, Business Unit Reviews, and Long-Term Strategic Plan Presentations pertaining to the Natural Gas Pipeline Group
- Prepare and update monthly reports needed for MidPerm and DelPerm Pipelines Transport Books along with long-term Third-Party Transport held by TGM
- Assist in securing Interstate and Intrastate Pipeline Interconnects for Targa Operated Processing Plant thereby assuring flow assurance for said plants, along with developing the ability to research available Capacity, Direction of Flow, Liquidity, Gas Quality, Hub and Storage facilities associated with said Pipelines
- Assist in Targa’s Fuel Supply Program to Upstream Producers and Third-Party End Users in need of a Lean Fuel Gas Supply – Assist the Team and Legal on Interconnect and Reimbursement Agreements, and NAESBs
- Coordinate with TGM and Upstream Commercial regarding Producer “Take in Kind” Provisions
- Other job duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- 3 years of natural gas experience in the midstream industry
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Proficiency with financial modeling of capital projects
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management
- Motivated, self-directed and detail-oriented, while also maintaining a results-driven approach to work; Demonstrated accountability skills including the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to recognize and research irregularities and inconsistencies
- Deadline oriented
- Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail, including organization of work papers
- Effective in a dynamic environment, adapting to and managing change in a positive and proactive manner
- Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to remain positive, professional, determined, calm and focused when faced with challenging situations
- A general understanding of the midstream natural gas industry is required.
