The Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) methods to support gas process facility and pipeline projects. This role collaborates with engineering, project management, operations, and maintenance teams to translate design intent into precise, accurate, and consistent drawings; resolve document discrepancies; and ensure project documentation meets company and industry standards.
With instructions, markups, redlines, or sketches provided by others, create and maintain detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or CADWorx Plant/P&ID:
Plot plans, station general arrangements, and grading plans
Piping isometrics and spool drawings
P&ID's and PFD's
Electrical one-lines and panel schematics
Civil/structural foundation and steel details
Incorporate engineering specs (e.g. pipe/valve/fitting specs) into designs and drawings.
Generate material take-offs and bill of materials (BOMs) for procurement and cost estimating
Coordinate drawing packages with third-party engineering firms
Support field construction teams with RFIs, field sketches, and redline markups
Maintain and adhere to master drawing files, CAD standards, title blocks, and layer management for the company
Assist with permit drawings
Provide design and drafting support for engineering, project management, operations and maintenance teams.
Manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
In addition to the above, the Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and optimizing layouts and models, collaborating closely with engineering teams to quickly deliver innovative, efficient, and constructible designs.
Make informed decisions regarding equipment placement, pipe routing, structural member sizing, safety and clearance requirements, and constructability
Apply technical judgement to identify and resolve design issues prior to engineering review
Produce 3D models (Navisworks, CADWorx, Plant 3D)
Incorporate survey data, LiDAR, GIS, and orthophotos into designs.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record
Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Proficiency in Power BI for reporting and analytics
Degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Design Technology, or equivalent
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and/or CADWorx P&ID
Ability to read and redline P&ID's, plot plans, and isometrics
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, including willingness to make minor adjustments to drawings such as line weights, annotations, geometry cleanup, etc.
Working knowledge of pipeline materials, ASME B31.3/4/8, API standards, and PHMSA regulatory requirements as they pertain to drawings

Familiarity with GIS platforms (e.g. ArcGIS)
Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx Plant, and/or Inventor
Previous work with laser scans/point clouds
Background in surveying or field data collection
Understanding of design theory, process flow, and equipment interactions
Experience in field-fitting and ensuring maintainability and operator access
Adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, including eye protection, footwear, hard hat, and fire-retardant clothing (FRC)
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds
Ability to work in changing climate conditions and plant/field environments
Ability to work in close quarters, while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing
Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
